No Thirst Software Releases MoneyWell 1.1

THE WOODLANDS, Texas—November 7, 2007—No Thirst Software LLC today released the 1.1 version of MoneyWell™, personal finance software that helps people take control of their spending. This new release adds Mac OS X Leopard compatibility, single-click account reconciliation, OFX/QFX file import support, document password protection, and several other user-requested abilities.

Users have been overwhelmingly positive about the product, "I've only been playing with MoneyWell for 1 hour and I am convinced. Thank you for an awesome program. Keep up the good work. The Mac development world needs more folks like you!" and No Thirst Software support, "Wow! That was the fastest support reply I think I have ever gotten!"

Every added feature was designed to blend perfectly with the popular single-window interface. For example, users can click the new Reconcile button and watch the center panel transform into a color-coded transaction list with a compact reconcile summary at the bottom. Visual indicators tell users when the account is reconciled and when the single-click option can be used to finish the reconcile process. Unlike other financial tools, MoneyWell doesn't hide the transactions that are outside the statement date range, instead it grays them out and keeps them easy to access.

The whole reconcile process is very elegant: There's no need to switch windows if you need to add a missing transaction and no need to decide when to save the reconcile process—it's automatic. Add, remove, and select statements on the fly. Click once to return to the standard graph view. Balancing a checkbook has never been this simple—MoneyWell almost makes it fun.

MoneyWell 1.1 also adds import support for industry-standard OFX, QFX, and QIF file formats. Any financial institution downloads for Intuit Quicken or Microsoft Money can be read by MoneyWell. The whole import process has been refined and accelerated. Imports are ten times faster than the 1.0 release and users can choose to have MoneyWell automatically remove duplicate transactions. Transactions are automatically assigned to buckets and given consistent payee names during the import process by comparing them to the user-defined memorized transactions alias list.

Users love the bucket concept, which gives them spending control like the manual envelopes method, and this latest version of MoneyWell gives them even more to love. Monthly rollovers are now automatic and occur without any user intervention. Users can even go back to any previous month, change transactions or money flows, and MoneyWell will instantly recalculate rollovers. There's no reason to close out the previous month prior to starting a new month—just add, delete, or change anything and let MoneyWell handle the rest.

The ability to allocate income for prior months was a heavily requested feature and MoneyWell 1.1 implements it with two-step style: Click the graph column of the month to be changed and then click Allocate Income. The same process works for viewing and changing money flows in the past: click the graph and click a bucket. The bucket detail shows a filtered money flow list where users can change or remove flows.

A host of other improvements and additions are also in this new release: document password protection, individual month spending plan amounts, visual enhancements to the bucket list, and several bug fixes.
